DH Cover Art "Today" Interview with Arthur A. Levine
The Deathly Hallows cover art is here!!
In this interview, aired on March 28th, 2007 on "Today", hosts Meredith Vieira and Matt Lauer speak with J.K. Rowlings' American Editor, Arthur A. Levine chiefly about the newly released cover artwork for "Deathly Hallows".
She wastes no time in getting to the (hor)crux of the issue by trying to interpret (as we all are, at the moment) whether or not the art bodes well or ill for Harry. Levine holds firm to his resolve and doesn't give us any more insight....he just confirms what we already know. That someone will die.
He is further asked about his feelings on the ending of the series, to which he responds with the same duality that we all feel: "....both the excitement and the power of the book, and the plot, driving me forward. But I was also feeling a little sad. It's the last time."
When Levine referred to how he "sobbed and sobbed" when he read DH, Vieira makes a last ditch attempt to get him to reveal whether or not that means that Harry perishes, Levine simply states that "it is a very, very emotional book,"
This is what we've been waiting for folks!
