For its video galleries, Leaky has taken its sourcing cue from the many Harry Potter sites around the Web who have featured Leaky's videos on their pages for the past several years - that is, we have reuploaded the video and added a source line wherever possible. We include a watermark for Leaky because we are paying the (expensive) cost of serving up the video. We have tried as hard as possible to source all videos correctly; however, some of these files have simply been sitting on our hard drives for years, and their source is impossible to track down. If you feel that you are owed a source line, please send us an email at videos@the-leaky-cauldron.org containing your reasons why, and we will address it as soon as possible.
Our practice regarding "gets" by other sites is the same here in the video galleries as it is throughout Leaky: We feel a first "get" requires at the very least a waiting period from the time it is posted before it is reuploaded or hosted here, so that your site may get the full credit it deserves while the news is fresh and of most interest to viewers. The same practice goes into our news posting and image posting, and we request the same of other sites with regard to information, videos and images that Leaky gets first.
Similarly, no copyright infringement is intended by the addition of these videos; in most cases, these videos have been available on the Web for a long time.
