Young readers in East Lancashire have voted Harry Potter their favourite in a survey by local libraries.

From CBBC Newsround: "If you can't wait for the next Harry Potter film and you're on the edge of your broomstick waiting for the next spell binding book, then don't worry. Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone is being released on video and DVD complete with extra scenes. We have two DVDs and two videos to give away, signed by our very own Lizo!"

Anne Robinson and JK Rowling may go head-to-head in a popularity contest with students at St Andrews University in Scotland. The Weakest Link presenter and the Harry Potter author have both been nominated as rectors for the University.

The Flying Scotsman has been knocked off the top spot as Britain's best loved train - by the Orient Express. The luxurious train, made famous by Agatha Christie's mystery Murder On The Orient Express was the favourite train of 49 per cent of adults in a survey for the Association of Train Operating Companies. Thomas the Tank Engine came third in the MORI poll, the Rocket was fourth, Eurostar fifth and Harry Potter's Hogwart's Express sixth.

Where is Harry Potter when we need him? For the second year in a row, the nonappearance of Book 5 of the small bespectacled one's magical doings is throwing readers of all ages into a spring tizzy.
